Pretty Girls 04:58
I fell in love on my back while looking up. There was a face hovering above me, and I thought, “good enough”. Skin was electric on skin. The heat of blood created chemistries to bond the two of us. But, in a moment of conceit, I forgot to speak. Now all the pretty girls are coming back through your world. I tell you to stop. You’re breaking my heart. So now I get myself looking right, and I’m going out. You know, I probably broke a hundred hearts by now. So, maybe I’ve gotten lost, but that’s ok. I am a wild and uncharted map to claim. Still you try to make it right every single night. But now all those pretty girls are rolling back through your world. I tell you to stop. You’re breaking my heart. Well, if I get one request, just think of me as your best. Now, the heart is a maze. I am lost at each turn, but I’m keeping my hand to the wall. You know with every motion, with every beat it sings "love".
Spiders 03:12
If anyone should come and speak a word to me, I keep my temper mean. I keep my hunger lean. That every twist of fate is destined to agree... you don’t know what I’ve seen. But now, I’m gonna wrap you up. I’ll keep you safe and warm and close to me every night. If anyone should dare and make a move towards me, I keep my motions free. I keep my conscience clean. All glory to the fruit plucked easy from the tree. It is a taste so sweet, no blood no coventry. So come on, rest your head for now. Come on, everyone just calm down. I’m gonna wrap you up and keep you safe and warm and close to me every night. Tonight I’m gonna dress you up and make you happy , so happy to be with me.
Finches 04:12
Blood calls to blood as the deep calls to deep, as the deep calls to me, Oh my love comes to me in the dark, in the deep. Something’s with me. The motions of heat make you call in your sleep, “Comfort me.” But the feel of the weight makes you twist in your sheets to be free. The seeds have been sown and what’s done has been done. Change is gonna come. Certain flocks set apart by the sea, becoming stranger, will adapt changing form as is need to meet the hunger. To hold on until they get enough. As earth pulls the sun and the moon rises up, bones will grow, blood will run. Songs will shift in our teeth. On our tongues they will ring wedding bells. It is worked in the weave that you are threads tied to me. But it’s long and change is gonna come. The angel said to Jacob at his thigh, “Do release me.” But Jacob spoke to him in reply, “Until you bless me I will hold on until I get enough.” Oh, change is gonna come. Becoming caught in the web of a snare, moving faster, one will struggle out of instinct and fear to tangle further. But there are barbs on the hooks of the heart to set them deeper. They will hold on until we get enough.
Our love was written down on tablets of stone. It was all laid out in every letter and code. They’re saying, “This is the way to stay clean” and “This is the way to be free.” Come on, darling don’t give me up. No. Sound the alarms, they are sending the search parties out. But we are caught in the rooms of your house. They are ringing the bells. They are singing our names out loud, but I can’t go now. So if it all makes sense, then everybody would know. How can a man lay down without the weight of a soul? So go on bury those bones. Come on, no one denies you that hope. Put your fingers in my hair and twist. I can’t go now.
Heavy Boats 03:39
Oh, I’ve got my game face on and I’m ready to hit the mark. I carry my heavy threats in all of my empty hearts, and I’ll kill you if I have to kill. Oh, it was everything all the time, every poison and every appetite. And you knew every string that was tied to me, heavy cords on my hands and feet, but I’ll crush you if you get in my way. Oh, heavy boats carry me out of here through the weight of the atmosphere. Just carry me out. Oh, heavy hopes, bury me in the ground laying roses and thistle down around my head. We’re so much heavier now. We’re so heavy. I’ll crush you if you get in my way.

Née St Louis, Missouri

“Nee is the dance squad at the cool kid magnet school. It is vintage synthesizers and ricocheting drums and poses... If you think bad-times subject matter precludes good-times songs, you obviously aren’t much into songs. The pop music created by (the band) can make you forget, for a moment, that there is such a thing as tomorrow." Kiernan Maletsky, Music Editor at River Front Times ... more
